History of Cricket bats
The blade of a cricket bat is a wooden block that is generally flat on the striking face and with a ridge on the reverse (back of the bat). which concentrates wood in the middle where the ball is mostly hit. The bat is traditionally made from willow wood, specifically from a variety of White Willow.
The Ashes
The Ashes is the most famous cricket match known to man between England and Australlia The Ashes are contested every four years here, and every four years in Australia. Because of this, there can be as little as 18 months between series, as was the case 2005 - 2006, or as much as 30 months. They are dued to play at Lords Cricket Ground summer 2013.We dont know who the team is yet but we hope Kevin Pitersen is playing in this series.

Music I like to listen to before the game
Before every game I listen to music to help me focus; ready for our big game. I like listen to Rap music and myt favourite Rapper is Devlin. Devlin is a British citizen and he lives in Essex and he is 23 years old. Despite his ages Devlin is big on the UK Grime scene and has collaborated on Tinchy Stryder's Game Over with Giggs, Professor Green, Tinie Tempah, Example and Chipmunk. He has also worked with Labrinth and Jessie J.
I like Devlin because he speaks the truth and his songs are easy listening.
Heres is a link to one of Devlin's tunes:

My experience
I started playing cricket last year and I currently play for Hindhead cricket club. I prefer to bat rather than fielding. I enjoy this because theres an oppertunity to defend yourself from the ball which is often flying 80mph or faster. I enjoy playing cricket for my team because I get to socialise with new people in the village. We have social team meetings to see who is playing in the next few fixtures. This is a good chance to have a drink and a snack with my team mates.
Cricket has got a high risk factor and this gets your adrenaline flowing and once it is flowing you forget there is a risk and enjoy that there is a small risk factor.
